My apologies if this is an ignorant inquiry, however, I appreciate any help that can be offered.

Since installing the security suite, whenever I sign into msn instant messenger my system seems to slow to a nearly nonfunctional state. When I sign out, things return to normal. Oddly enough, When I bring up the Windows Task Manager, I don't see the "100% CPU Usage" spike that would usually occur in such a situation. Yet I am unable to browse or open windows/make commands in a timely manner, such to the point that I feel I have to cease using the msn messenger program on this machine if this problem cannot be resolved. If it is of any consequence, I use Windows XP and Firefox to browse.

Thank you in advance. =)

Thanks for trying, Valen.

Disabling firewall had no effect; snoozing antivirus protection did, however.
(I had tried these both before posting, though only noticed when I tried again today, because it literally took a few minutes to take effect--I figured I was doing something wrong when neither seemed to do much.)

Still confused, disabling my anti-virus protection doesn't seem like a good long-term solution. Any further advice is much obliged.

hi Vani..

i'm not sure whether this link can solve your issue, but please try..

(exclude the msn messenger .exe, maybe it's called msnmsgr.exe or smth like that ^_^ )

cheers!
