can't access internet after install

I just purchased the CA ISS Plus 2008 and installed it on my laptop and desktop. They previously had internet access and now neither of them allow me to get on the internet. The security suite says that the internet isn't blocked. Also, my wireless on my laptop shows to have limited or no connectability though it shows all the bars for signal. Please help. I am running Windows XP on both machines.
